Aqaba – Al Aqaba Development Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, aimed at empowering orphaned youth in Aqaba through the “Vocational Training Scholarship for Orphaned Youth in Aqaba” program. The initiative seeks to provide specialized vocational training opportunities tailored to the needs of the local labor market, helping orphaned youth enhance their employability and achieve self-reliance..
Under this agreement, Al Aqaba Development Corporation will provide financial support covering 28 orphaned youth (both male and female) from Aqaba. The funds will be directed toward the Fund’s educational and training programs implemented in the governorate, as part of the Corporation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) vision focused on empowering local communities and fostering integrated human development.
For the first time in Aqaba, these training grants will be announced and opened for applications on a competitive and transparent basis, with full details of the scholarships to be revealed soon.
This collaboration builds upon Al Aqaba Development Corporation’s ongoing efforts to support national initiatives aimed at building youth capacities and expanding opportunities for orphaned graduates from care centers, in alignment with Aqaba’s sustainable development approach — one that integrates economic and social growth within the framework of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone’s mission.
Hussein Al-Safadi, CEO of Al Aqaba Development Corporation, emphasized the importance of investing in people, stating: “True development is not measured by the scale of projects alone, but by our ability to empower people and create opportunities for them. This agreement with Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans reflects our practical commitment to supporting a deserving group of young Jordanians who should find in Aqaba an environment that embraces them and equips them with the tools for a better future.”
Al-Safadi also affirmed that the Corporation will continue to support vocational training and applied education programs for orphaned youth, ensuring they acquire the practical skills required by the professional sectors operating within the Special Economic Zone.
Noor Homoud, General Manager of Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, expressed her appreciation to Al Aqaba Development Corporation for its initiative to support the Fund’s efforts in Aqaba, noting that this partnership represents a model for empowering orphaned youth through education and vocational training. and she said: “The support provided by Al Aqaba Development Corporation will help us expand our programs in southern Jordan, particularly in Aqaba, offering real opportunities for orphaned youth to gain skills and confidently enter the labor market. Since its establishment, Al Aman Fund has been dedicated to building secure and sustainable futures for orphaned youth above the age of 18 through comprehensive programs that include university, diploma, and vocational education, as well as living support.
